The Hotel Maritimo has long been the place to stay in Poneloya (for those not willing to risk the rickety Hotel Lacayo). The hotel has all of the amenities available in the small beach town: private bathrooms, air conditioning, breakfast (included in the room rate). The open-plan hotel is a bit shabby and overgrown outside, but the 30 rooms are spacious, clean and reasonably priced. While Posada is not directly on the beach, the sand is a short walk away. The hotel offers group discounts, tours to La Isla and transportation to Leon, Chinandega, Corinto and Cerro Negro. Posada accepts all credit cards.
